Process of integrating WhatsApp

WhatsApp business overview:

WhatsApp Business API is specifically designed for businesses and can meet complex sales needs. WhatsApp Business API has a conversion fee.

Prepare for integration with WhatsApp API

Requirements for connecting and using WhatsApp business API:

  • To integrate with WhatsApp, each business needs to have access to Facebook Business Manager. Without access to it, you will not be able to integrate with WhatsApp.

  • The account you use to register WhatsApp business API must have Admin permission of Business Profile.

If you don't have the Facebook Business Manager, you can create a new account. However, keep in mind that there may be certain restrictions on use in the first 24 hours.

The phone number for WhatsApp business API must be a valid phone number that meets the following criteria:

  • The phone number used to connect to WhatsApp is NOT connected to WhatsApp Apps (personal & business App). If the phone number has been registered with WhatsApp apps, you need to delete the account to be able to connect to WhatsApp business API. Read more at FAQs.

  • Your phone number can receive phone calls and SMS.

Step 1: Click the add channel button

To begin the integration with WhatsApp, access Social CRM, head to Settings > Channel Integration section on your Social CRM page. Then, click on the Add channel account > WhatsApp button to start the integration.

You'll see a popup with a summary of all the requirements that you need to meet in order to integrate Social CRM with WhatsApp. To process, you can roll the next step and read it carefully, after that click on "I understood, proceed now" or you can skip and start integrating immediately.

Step 2: Embedded Sign Up

In the next stage, you'll see a Facebook log-in modal. Please log in to your Facebook account associated with your Meta Business Account. If you do not complete the information step or fill in fake information (URL website, Business email, Company name,...), it may put your WhatsApp Business Account or Meta Business Account at risk of being banned by Meta, read more.

  1. Click on Continue as...

  1. Click on Get started

  1. Select the Meta Business Account you want your integration associated with. Or create one if you don't have one, fill in the requirement, follow the Overview instructions, and click Next

  1. Create your Whatsapp Business Account & Profile (or select an existing one).

  1. Fill in all the requirements fields, choose your business category

  1. Select your country code and fill up your phone number, then press the next button Note: Need to verify the phone number and avoid leaving an embedded sign-up before verifying the phone number successfully, read more.

  1. After verifying successfully, click next to direct on the finished page

  1. You need to choose the WhatsApp Business Account you want to connect.
